Today we join Christians across Canada and Etobicoke North in celebrating Easter, a cornerstone of the Christian faith that commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Easter marks the end of the Lenten season, a period of reflection, fasting, and charitable giving for many Christians, and is widely recognized as a time of renewal and hope. Across the country, communities come together to mark the occasion through church services, community gatherings, and cultural traditions. For many families, Easter is also associated with seasonal activities such as shared meals and Easter egg hunts.
As we recognize this occasion, we also acknowledge the contributions of Canadians of Christian faith who continue to support their communities through acts of service, compassion, and care for those in need.
